To join the ranks of the Dragon Keepers, D must pass the Ranger exam. He meets his fellow Ranger recruits, and the mighty Blue and Red Keepers, who are on a mission to ensure the Dusters don’t dare break their treaty again. But D’s disappearance raises eyebrows.

Disguising himself as a the Ranger Hibiki, D infiltrates the ranks and meets the cunning Yumeko, a yellow ranger with her own agenda. But finding the Red Dragon keeper amongst all of the other red rangers, makes it difficult for D to enact revenge. Whats worst is that Yumeko senses his true identity and rather than exposing him, proposes an unexpected alliance. Even providing information on the Dragon keeper’s five legendary divine artifacts—talisman that can grant unimaginable powers and even eliminate immortal monsters! Also informing D where they are stored within the arena.

Hibiki overheard their conversation and is now aware of D’s true identity. So he confronts D and asks that he give up any evil plan. Even though D states that he will not give up, Hibiki still informs him that he has passed the ranger test.

Continuing his plan, D transforms into the Red Dragon Keeper, sneaking under the arena to seize these artifacts. As they connect, Hibiki opens up about his tragic past: his parents, who believed the Rangers were wrong for forcing monsters into battle, fell victim to a monster Petrola that called himself a god. Petrola slaughtered its own followers, leaving Hibiki and his sister orphaned. Yet, he was saved by none other than the retired Blue Ranger, who raised him as his own.

D and Hibiki form an alliance while Aran, a junior from Blue Squad, searches for D. Aran happens to be wielding his divine artifact replica that he states is powered by friendship. When D accidentally touches the replica, he realizes its dangerous power. In a twist, D takes Hibiki hostage in exchange for the artifact, but Hibiki escapes, grabs the artifact, and knocks D off a ledge, unaware they’ve swapped places. Hibiki sacrificed his arm, accepted a duster mask, and allowed D to clone him to infiltrate the rangers, sparking a rivalry as they pursue conflicting goals. One to fix the system and the other to destroy it.

Masked as Hibiki, D finds out that Hibiki has secretly been hiding a duster named XX in his closet, who’s equally determined to take down the Rangers. D tells her he’s a fighter too, and she decides to join him. Then, in a surprising visit, D meets Hibiki’s sister. She warns him to quit the Rangers, revealing that he’s too passive for the fight. But here’s the twist—Hibiki’s sister is actually the Pink Ranger leader.
